What is Le Porte-Bagages?

Le Porte-Bagages is a specialized agency in transfer of luggage between two accommodations during your roaming stays. You drop off your luggage at reception before 9 a.m. and collect it from your next accommodation at 5 p.m. maximum. Our agency has the Light Goods Transport license -3.5T, to transfer your luggage safely according to French standards.


What are the advantages?

You travel light during the day, you find the comfort of your belongings in the evening: you enjoy the trip more, this is the most important thing during a vacation. You can stop to visit the monuments without the stress of having your belongings stolen from your bike.


In which area do you operate?

We are located in Burgundy, we can transport your luggage from Auxerre to Macon, via Dijon, Beaune, Chalon sur Saône, Tournus, Cluny...


What guarantees do I have that you will deliver my luggage?

With each reservation, a luggage tag will be generated, it is obligatory to print and put it on each object that we will transport. The label contains the following information: total number of bags, name, telephone number, location of accommodation on each date.

If there is no label, you run the risk that we will not take your baggage with you.

As a carrier approved by the Ministry of Transport, you call on professionals who will take care of your luggage.


How big and heavy can you carry?

For each piece of luggage, you can entrust us with a suitcase of maximum 15 kg and a small handbag, label required for each of them!


I have unusual luggage (<15 kg, skis, etc.).

How much luggage can you carry per trip?

Limitless ! The price will be adjusted to the number of pieces of luggage when you order. The site limits 20 bags per reservation. Contact us if you have a specific need.


What are the pick-up and drop-off times?

Pick-up from 9 a.m., drop-off maximum 5 p.m. If your luggage has not arrived by 5 p.m., call us on 06 02 94 16 55.

I need my luggage delivered at a specific time.

We optimize our tour circuit every day. Contact us to find out if this is possible.


I'm taking the train after my last stop, where can you deliver me?

It's up to you to find a place where we can drop off your luggage. However, contact us to see if we can meet you at the station.


What happens if my luggage is lost or damaged?

In the event of damage during transport, Le Porte-Bagages will pay compensation for the repair of all justified damage for which it is legally held responsible within the following limits: compensation cannot exceed €33 per kilogram of gross weight of goods missing or damaged for each of the objects included in the shipment, without being able to exceed €1000 per lost package.


You are carrying my luggage, can you carry me? Can you transport my bike?

Yes, it’s optional on the site!


Do you transport animals?

Yes it’s possible, contact us! Small and big doggies, warn them that we risk giving them caresses and tickles. Please note, if your pet soils our vehicle, we will charge you a cleaning fee.


What is the reservation process?

Select the transfers of your choice on our site (by establishment, municipality or address), select the number of pieces of luggage, add all the necessary steps, possibly additional people and bicycles. Set, it’s ready! All you have to do is print the labels received by email and hang them on your suitcases. You're already on vacation for a bit.


What is included in the price?

The price corresponds to your order: luggage transfer between selected points, picked up from 9 a.m. and delivered at 5 p.m. maximum.


How do I pay for my transfer?

By credit card on the site, you can otherwise contact us if you do not have a credit card.


How does luggage transport take place if I am staying in an Airbnb or if the accommodation I am staying in is not open all day?

Our tours are organized to limit travel, make sure we can drop off luggage in a secure location between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Accommodations must be notified of our arrival. If we cannot drop off the luggage, re-transfer fees may apply.


What are the cancellation and modification conditions?

Here are our cancellation conditions:

Cancellation more than 48 hours before the start of the service, 100% refund (except bank charges of €5).

Cancellation within 48 hours, 100% of the service will be payable.

Cancellations must be sent by email to leportebagage@gmail.com.

If modified 48 hours before the service, there will be no modification fees. For changes between 48 hours before the service and 9 a.m. on the day of the service, a fee of €10 per transfer will be applied.
