Take the ancient paths of Saint-Jacques de Compostelle, linking two jewels listed as UNESCO world heritage sites: between Fontenay's Abbey and the eternal hill of Vézelay.
From Fontenay's Abbey, the oldest preserved Cistercian abbey, and its gardens, follow the Burgundy canal, where you can encounter the medieval towns of Semur-en-Auxois, Flavigny-sur-Ozerain, Châteauneuf-en-Auxois, Montbard or the castles of Bussy-Rabutin and Commarin.
Then reach the Grand Vézelay hill, and its Sainte Marie-Madeleine basilica, from which you can see the town of the fortified city of Avallon very close.
